All about me........
This is a crappy photo of me

For those of you that are interested in this sort of stuff............

I am the eldest son in a family of four kids. Born in the lovely English-style city of Christchurch, New Zealand, I have one brother and twin sisters. Andrew, Sharon and Lucinda.

I left home at the age of about 16 (if I remember rightly) and did the flatting thing with a few mates, managing to find my way home each time I got kicked out of a flat or the girlfriend I was with at the time felt like I wasn't good enough for her anymore.

I was fortunate enough to have a very good upbringing with my folks being very much of the "old-school" way of learning. You piss them off, you get a hiding and although its frowned upon a bit nowadays, I don't think I would've turned out the way I have if they hadn't. It's one of those things you hate your parents for at the time, but as you get older, you realise exactly what they were trying to do and you sort of respect them for it.
As a youngster growing up in the middle of the disco era I went through quite a few different "phases" and if I can locate all the photos, I'll stick some of them on here for a bit of a laugh.

Guess you could say I was (and in some ways still am) a bit of a mummy's boy.
While my bro was out in the garage with me ol' man learning how to fix a lawnmower, change a tyre and paint a letterbox, I was in the house with mum, pigging out on the bowls after she'd done some baking, watching her do the dishes or lifting my feet up so she could vacuum under them. Cheers mum.
Don't think I would've had it any other way really. Because of the things I learnt from my mum, I am now quite competent at slappin' together a mighty fine feed, making me own bed and even sewing a button or darning a sock. All the "blokey" stuff I now know, sort of just got picked up as I went along, hanging out with mates, reading it outta books, just trying it...........I'm at the stage where I can change a lightbulb by myself now.

Let me just take a serious wee moment here okay?????

Just want to say thank you very much to my loving mum and dad, Ruth and Trev. Without you guys I wouldn't have been able to do half the things I have done. I wouldn't have learnt half that I know. True growing up and even now to a certain extent I have caused you a shit-load of grief. I apologise for that. You are the two most wonderful people in the world and I will always love you very much. xxxxx

Right, now that dad's feeling all emotional and mum's bawling her eyes out...we'll continue.

Nowadays I'm living in Wellington after having done a seven year stint in Auckland and am just passing each day until March 2001 when I head off to the UK (why??.....check out "a change of life")

I haven't much enjoyed Wellington since I moved here and if I wasn't off to the UK soon, would without a doubt be heading back to Auckland.
Work at the moment consists of Duty Manager at a major supermarket chain. Not a huge challenge mentally but am gaining more and more "people" experience everyday which should set me up well for the future overseas.
I "flat" (share house for those in the US) with 3 others at the moment, Janine (whom I have known since I moved to Auckland a long time ago), Steve (a primary school teacher who I met when I got to Wellington) and Ana (an Art student at the local tech). All on the whole a great bunch of guys but like everyone, we have our moments......hehe. Hopefully we'll all keep in touch for many a year after I have gone.

So that's about it at the mo. As the days go by I'll try to add a bit more to here, just to kill the curiosity of you nosey buggars out there.....
